Raúl Gallego y Gervi Navío recuerdan al Boss en esta primera parte de los tres programas dedicados al rockero de Freehold, New Jersey. Sus historias sobre jóvenes que quieren escapar, quemar ruedas por las carreteras, librarse del maldito Vietnam, bailar con la chica soñada. La energía de Bruce se fragua en un barrio obrero, siempre a la sombra de un padre bebedor y taciturno. Bruce susurra sus poemas sencillos, sobre gente cercana, entonces su guitarra de madera gastada da paso al saxo del Big Man, Clarence Clemons y todos los grandes músicos de la E Street Band, sus amigos de la adolescencia, el pirata bonachón Steve Van Zandt, su hermano, alguno como Vinnie “Mad Dog” sería invitado a dejar la banda tras grabar The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle, reemplazado por el gran batería Max Weinberg, a partir de ahí llegó su primer bombazo, Born to run.
